FOKUS 2014 video art festival

FOKUS 2014 video art festival takes place from February 6 - March 2, 2014 at Nikolaj Kunsthal and related venues!

During the festival Nikolaj Kunsthal is transformed into a mecca of video art. Experience premieres of works by Danish and international artists along with a number of curated video programmes, artist talks and events.

Once again we've sent out an open call for video art, inviting both new and established artists internationally to send in their works.

The festival opening night on February 6 is devoted to our open call as we screen ten nominated videos in full length, all motiveated by the jury, and finally award the open call prizes to three winning videos.

Deadline for submissions is December 16 at 12pm CET time. Read more and find out how to participate here.

In 2014 FOKUS video art festival will be a part of Wondercool - a cultural umbrella for the month of February where Copenhagen's major festivals will offer the best in architecture, design, food, fashion, music, art and other cultural experiences. We appreciate the support and the community with other festivals and institutions offered by Wondercool.

Thanks to our collaboration with Wondercool, FOKUS 2014 will feature two extraordinary events:

Taste of Emotions – expand your senses in this experiment mixing video and culinary arts. A collaboration between FOKUS video art festival and Copenhagen Cooking.

BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer) - in 2014 FOKUS once again features the interactive event BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer), inviting artists to show up with a projector and some interesting video material and beam on! This BYOB will be organised in collaboration with FROST Festival and SMK. More info follows early January 2014.

As in previous editions, FOKUS will be popping up in various locations around Copenhagen – stay tuned on this web page for more info ahead of the festival.

During the festival you may enjoy food and drinks in the festival café at Nikolaj Kunsthal, Contemporary Art Centre, and hang out in our fatboys while watching the many hours of video.

Throughout the festival the opening hours at Nikolaj Kunsthal will be Thursday - Friday 12pm - 10pm and Saturday - Sunday 10am - 6pm. Festival passes giving access to Nikolaj Kunsthal throughout FOKUS are available at DKR 50,- A limited number of events may require special tickets at an extra cost.
