THE WINNERS OF THE FOKUS 2014 OPEN CALL HAVE BEEN FOUND

The popular and prestigious open call competition is one of the main elements of FOKUS 2014. Prior to the opening of the festival, Nikolaj Kunsthal, Copenhagen Contemporary Art Centre, received a total of 147 videos from 15 countries, and they have been trying to win the jury’s favour.

On the opening night, February 6 2014, the three winners were announced. And the winners of the FOKUS 2014 video art festival are:

Carlos Franco Maldonado (PRI): Selfie as a Sundial

The jury was: Michael Thouber, head of the DR2 channel of the Danish broadcasting corporation; Lars Movin, writer and filmmaker; Angela Melitopoulos, artist and professor at The School of Media Art, The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts; Elisabeth Delin Hansen, director, Nikolaj Kunsthal, and Andreas Brøgger, curator, Nikolaj Kunsthal.
