Pixelade

30. August 2014 to 9. November 2014

- AN EXHIBITION FOR EVERYONE AGED 0 TO 116

OPENING PARTY AUGUST 30 12-5 PM

What happens inside a computer? What would it be like if you could get in behind the screen - and what happens when you're there with others?

In a digital universe in which everything has been dissolved into pixels in a wealth of colourful, movable elements, sounds and changing lighting, the visitors can experiment with shapes and colours, combinatorics and spatial structures. You can try different processes and games and explore playing and the way in which the game combines freedom, rules, improvisation, and creative task solving. The exhibition is there to be experienced and tried on by everyone, no matter their age, alone or together with others.

PIXELADE is an interactive total installation created by visual artists Malene Bang and Katja Løgstrup-Hansen in collaboration with game developers from Copenhagen Game Collective.

Malene Bang and Katja Løgstrup-Hansen were both educated at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2012.

PIXELADE is the most recent instalment in the long-standing tradition at Nikolaj Kunsthal of creating exhibitions of contemporary art specifically for children and young persons as well as their accompanying grown-ups.

This presentation is a further development of the exhibition Pixelade og det sovende kvæg, shown at the Danish art museum Brandts in the spring of 2014.
