UNFINISHED HISTORIES III: TEMI ODUMOSU, JEUNO JE KIM and Ewa Einhorn

Jeuno JE Kim & Ewa Einhorn "Sex & Taxes" (2015)

We round off the event series “Unfinished Histories” in the company of Temi Odumosu, Jeuno JE Kim and Ewa Einhorn. Artists Jeuno JE Kim and Ewa Einhorn will present her fictitious universe Krabstadt. The city of Krabstadt is located in an Arctic area and populated by unemployed people, immigrants and other marginalised groups, finding themselves expelled from the Nordic countries. In a satirical manner, current problematics such as migration, integration, unemployment and gender are taken up, and for this occasion, Jeuno JE Kim and Ewa Einhorn will present their films “Whaled Woman” and “Sex and Taxes”.

Also during this afternoon, researcher Temi Odumosu, taking as her starting point American author and anthropologist Zora Neale Hurston’s observation “I feel most colored when I am thrown against a sharp white background”, will delve into European archives to explore how black identity has been created and negotiated both by European artists in words and images and by African descendants seeking self-definition.
